Nightmare On Blogodo Road 06/02/2012 Update

Sometimes we wonder why a country as rich in resources and packed with intelligent people find it hard to progress. We often sit back wishing and dreaming for the very best for out Mother Land. We look at other countries that have progressed past the state that we are in and say to ourselves "if they can do it, so can we". However more often that not we fail to look deep down into the box that we so wish to come out of, and root out the very people and practices that is drawing our Mother Land in the opposite direction of progress.
A positive update to my quest in getting rid of a crook, yes I think I am now qualified to call her that - I will explain later.
It has been well past a year now since I issued a 3 month notice to Ms Florence Massoud to vacate my property, and since then the lady that I entrusted to act on my behalf to represent me at the rent Control Offices in Accra has been stone-walled by Mr Tawiah on countless visits just to have justice served. Now how can we dream of a better Ghana when people like Mr Tawiah, just blatantly fail to perform rightfully the duty the people of Ghana has elected him to do. Why on earth would a learned man who has occupied such a position in Government take more that 8 months just to come to a simple and decision? Yes, your guess is just as good as mine.
It now came to the point that I said this is just taking the ultimate piss. I reported the matter to 2 key figures in the Ghanaian community and also asked my cousin Mr Awuley L Lartey to accompany my representative to the rent Control Offices one last time. As it turns out, my cousin has had dealings with this Mr Tawiah in the past and was more than pleased when he was told that Mr Tawiah was handling my case. I called my cousin last night for feedback and was informed that Mr Tawiah issued a court order to be typed out. This court order will be placed on the property and if within 2 weeks Ms Florence Massoud does not make contact, then the police will be informed, forceful entry made and all her belongings chucked out.
Now this is what I suspect. Ms Florence massoud has done a runner, and she has been aided by Mr Tawiah. Mr Awuley lartey has called her mobile phone several times without any joy. Presumably, she has acquired a new number. As the saying goes "you can run, but you cannot hide". Yes, and I will make it my mission to find her and squeeze out from her the 12 months rent she owes me. I am also confident that she might have left some unpaid bills too, hence why I am classify her as a crook.
In conclusion......why did it have to take 9 months for a trained Government official to make a basic judgement call? The guy should be sacked!

My Baby - Naadu Djamasi

Miss Naadu Lartey Djamasi, I am extremely proud of you. Only God knows how I am grateful to Him for bringing you into our lives. You are such an inspiration not only to me but also to all that get to know you. Some years back you took a career journey to be a Nurse and that journey has come to a successful end. By your determination of hard work and self believe, not forgetting the guidance from God, you are now qualified as a Graduate Nurse. I know the going has not been easy, but with perceverance, you have done yourself good. Well done my dear and loving daughter; and I know you have your sights on being a midwife to which I wish to say that my prayers, efforts and dedication with be channelled into helping you archive this goal.

So Far, So Kool - My iPhone 4S

I have never been a fan of Blackberry devices. I distinctively remember back in the days when they suddenly erupted onto the scene, you would see these city guys with these devices in their palms appearing to work magic as if there was no tomorrow.  In those days, if you had a BB device, you were classed among the elite in the mobile phone niche. I only started to use the BB device when I secured a role at BAT. With BAT being a "heavy" user of BB device, we were required to support them in terms of build and configuration. So for almost four years I worked my way through the various models of BB devices. I finally gave up on them when I advised myself that RIM was not doing anything spectacular in competing with other mobile/smartphone manufacturers in terms of design. Even the features that the phones seemed to be updated with, appeared to be polished around the edges and did not have anything major to offer. I finally said enough was enough and convinced myself into getting an iPhone.

I have used an iPhone before, but that was when Apple started to delve into the mobile phone business. Which means the model I had was an old one [I still have it]. So you can imagine, with several years gone by, my iPone  acquired many years ago was not up to performance with respect to the current apps that were on the apps store. So I got on the blower and requested an upgraded to my current BB. My iPhone arrived 6 days after and I spent the rest of the afternoon configuring it. Four weeks on, I am still a happy consumer, and loving every inch of the phone.

I do sincerely hope RIM find their lost passion and do something spectacular to reinvent the Blackberry device. It is such a shame. Maybe they need to headhunt one of the designers from Apple to help them out.

All Grown Up - Ayele Sweety

It is always amazing how time seems to sort of play tricks on you. I don't know, but for me, I seem to expect that time will stand still, whereby for example, people whom I have not seem for quite a while I expect to not have changed that much. There is always this excitement when I make contact with people whom I have not seen for many years. I tend to immediately appreciate how much they have changed and what they are currently doing with their lives.

Ayele Sweetie

I think Ayele Sweety was about 11 years when I first met her; I am not too sure. Then we lost contact and then some months back I connect back with her on Facebook [good old Facebook aye! love it or hate it]. She is currently attending University Of Cape Coast - I think, but the most blessed thing is that she is all grown up and looking forward to a very blessed future.

It Has Arrived.....

So after four days of waiting after putting my order in with 02, my iphone 4S arrived yesterday just after 11AM. Yes I was and still am excited. Prior to my moving to the iphone, I was a serious Blackberry user. Well no that serious, but it did everything for me. I held off upgrading to the iphone 4 because I knew that there was going to be an upgrade very soon. Like almost everyone else, I thought the upgrade was going to reflect mainly in the design of the phone. We were proved wrong. However, the upgrade has been a significant one in terms of the functionality of the phone. I am absolutely loving it. I drifted towards Apple products when I purchased my Macbook Pro sometime last year. It was a vivid turning point for me in terms of technology. Flip back through my previous blogs and you will come across my narration of acquiring my Apple laptop. I am now ready to do some serious exploring with my new gadget. I have transfered all my purchases from my iphone 3G to the 4S handset - piece of cake. The process was absolutely flawless. Steve, thank you. A big thanks also to all those who were involved in the design and production of such an awesome product.
Marshable had the below article/video on their website. It is to do about Samsung trying to dis the Apple iphone. My response is "whateverrrrrrrrr".
Check out the video.

Looking Back.......

Time is something that if you misuse, you can never get back. This logic applies also to pictures you have treasured over the years. You have these pictures for so long and when something unexpected happens for you to loose them, then it is like your whole world has fallen apart. Hence the feeling of of despair when people loose pictures in house fires or even if they are stolen or destroyed one way or the other.
Below are pictures I have treasured over the years that have gone by. The quality is not that great being that they have been scanned.

Well, what can I say. Here is a picture of Ewurabena and Naadu taken when Naadu was about  3 years old I believe. If memory serves me right, it was taken at Labone Estates in Accra at the residence of the USAID representative in accra. Ewurabena was working there a a live in caterer for the representative there at that time. Check out Ewurabena's shades - kool aye? Well Naadu is 23 years now and is a graduate nurse working in Birmingham and Ewurabena certainly does not look the same, but still is beautiful as always.

Gosh, only God knows when this picture was taken. I would roughly put in between 1993 and '94. That's Naadu and her cousin Wendy. Wendy and her Mum stayed with us for a short while and since then I have not seen Wendy. However, I recently made contact with Wendy on Facebook and managed to give her a call have have a chat. She is still the same Wendy with that infectious smile - I so love her smile.

I love this picture so much. It was taken in Tamale, Education Ridge. Ewurabena loved sewing and she would be loaded with work from people who needed their sewing done for them. I always wondered where she got her energy from!

I have no idea when this was taken, but I have a strong feeling that it was taken in Tamale, somewhere in the town center. Ewurabena, I think had just finished her training at the vocational school in Tamale and was teaching at one of the local schools in Tamale.

Naadu engrossed in something of which I have no clue!
This picture was taken in Accra. I think it was at Remi's birthday party.

Well, that's it for now till I dig up some more pictures from the past and post them here.

A Day At Newark Everyday Champions Church

The trip to Newark started off at 8 AM. I got picked up from Reachout Community Church by Yuri and his lovely wife. I actually thought I had got the day wrong because they did not arrive till ten minutes after eight. Anyway a quite calculated pray and we were on our way to Newark. I am fairly good at pin pointing [roughly] where towns are generally located in my neck of the woods, however this time I got it totally wrong. I thought we would be going in the direction of Cambridge on the A14. I soon got to learn that Newark was up north on the A1. The trip was uneventful and took up just under one and a half hours to get there. After a nice cup of coffee served from the Coffee shop in the church and some socialising, we were all ready to sit down and listen to the vision for the church and some testimonies.
I would just like to make mention of Steve's presentation. He talked about how God speaks to all of us... ALL the time. He illustrated this by telling us that we are all equiped with an inbuilt radio, and that all we need to do is tune this radio from Radio 2 to the Holy Channel. He then went on to give testimonies of word he has had from God and how he has prayed to the people involved in the word he has had.
Conclusions? It was a fantastic day out visiting another church, getting together with other members from the Nottingham and Newark church, making friends and sharing. I managed to get some optics. Please do not scrutinise them. I used my Blackberry phone to take the picture.
